The Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority completed the construction of a 36,000 sq. ft. Recycling and Education center capable of serving the needs of Raleigh County and the surrounding region. Appropriately named The E. Paul Barley Regional Recycling Center after Mr. Barley, retired Director of Operations of the Raleigh County Solid Waste Authority and now serving as a member of our Board of Directors. The Recycling Center has the capacity to handle the recycling needs of our region well into the future and is a state of the art facility.
Our Recycling Center is unique in that a large area has been designed, constructed and used as a Education Center. Theatre style seating for up to 100 children and/or 65 adults is provided that overlooks the recycling area so that our guests can see and learn about the recycling process and its benefits.
For tours of our Recycling and Education center contact Sherrie Hunter at 255-9335 or visit our Tour Request page.
